Installations

There a plenty of different uses for sound systems in installations so each install is obviously custom made to suit, allowing for the current intended use, and potential future uses.

The most popular basic install is the ‘pub upgrade’ from the very tired hi-fi amp with 4 speakers hanging off it (and the wall usually). The client is usually offered a zone mixer, to control volumes in different areas (inside and out) replacement speakers and amplifiers, and integration of existing sources (CD, jukebox) into the new system. Volume plates are offered for behind the bar operation to minimise interference with the main system. Where Environmental Health are involved then installation of a limiter (and fire alarm mute trigger) usually takes place and subsequent testing with EH to ascertain correct dB levels. Security panels are applied with tamperproof fixings to maintain the settings.
Oxfordshire County Council work very closely with ControlSound to keep all parties happy!!

Induction Loop systems for the hard of hearing have become mandatory since the DDA Act of Nov 2005. Wherever public meetings are held the venue is obliged to provide the facility of the loop wherever practical.
All loop systems are installed to BS7594.

Paging systems from BT phone exchanges are relatively straight forward, and allow warehouse staff to hear above noisy machinery when a call is for them. Special Interfaces provide the necessary signal to drive an amplifier/loudspeaker setup for any size area.

Recording Studio Installations are a different area altogether but fortunately ControlSound also have very good experience in this area. Simple Mac based systems with a live room, small analogue desk with some outboard can be accomodated. Add in some comprehensive bantam patch bays and a really professional approach can be had.

The Escape Night Club in Oxford is a good example of a very comprehensive Martin Audio set up with 6 zones over 2 floors and £30k of sound and light to be found!!
